Positions Available

 

 

HR Specialist

The HR Specialist coordinates recruitment and job placement activities along with administration and coordination of employee benefit plans for the organization. Coordinates employee-related programs/events and assists with training, onboarding, and other Human Resources functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Embrace the company’s core values and core purpose
  • Maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
  • Develops and implements programs, plans, policies and procedures for recruitment, testing, selection and job placement
  • Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills
  • Develops recruitment programs to attract applicants and fill specific job openings
  • Works with local schools to promote the company and provide internship opportunities
  • Develops and maintains contacts with educational institutions, employment agencies, placement firms and other sources of applicants
  • Reviews resumes, screens applicants, schedules and conducts interviews, coordinates assessments, conducts background checks, coordinates drug screens and provides information about the position and organization
  • Develops and implements new employee onboarding programs
  • Prepares and maintains employee personnel files

Qualifications:

  • AS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all types of people

Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer is
responsible for developing and pursuing all new sales inquiries and leads and for contacting and visiting existing customers on a regular basis in an assigned territory. Acts as a technical sales liaison between the customer and the company and helps develop advertising campaigns in their territory as appointed by the Sales Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the company’s outsourcing message and capabilities
  • Maintains regular contact with all existing customers in assigned territory and makes visits as warranted or necessary
  • Develops and pursues all new sales inquiries and leads and follows through on requests for information in a prompt and orderly manner, including immediate travel to customer site when necessary
  • Prepares written proposals and quotations for customer inquiries and handles all correspondence
  • Maintains an organized follow-up system to ensure accurate and timely follow-up on sales inquiries and leads attained in assigned territory
  • Utilizes Customer Relationship Management Software (NetSuite) for keeping contact with customers
  • Prepares and circulates written itinerary at least 24 hours prior to departure of all sales related travel
  • Prepares written reports in a timely manner of sales trips and of customer visits within one week of the visit
  • Assists Sales Manager on an annual basis in anticipation of sales target meeting and anticipated sales forecast within assigned sales territory for upcoming fiscal year
  • Meets on a regular basis with the Sales Manager to coordinate relevant sales and marketing activities
  • Meets with executives, production and engineering management staff in a formalized setting to review anticipated orders in assigned territory
  • Cooperates with other sales staff, individuals and appointees of the company in their sales efforts
  • Follows standard procedures and formats for quoting and pricing
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Sales Manager

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related technical field is preferred
  • Five (5) years of sales and marketing experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years tubing and/or fabrication sales experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and close sales
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement growth strategies for developing and expanding existing markets
  • Experience in complex and long sales cycles
  • Experience developing marketing plans and materials
  • Experience managing and motivating a team while still being focused on direct selling

Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer eliminates wastefulness in production processes and devises efficient ways to use workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make products in a Lean Manufacturing Environment. Consistently exercises discretion and independent judgment. This involves carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks which may include communications with customers and suppliers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication.
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment to improve the competitive position of the company.
  • Supervises maintenance and tooling departments; prioritizes workload to meet timelines and organizational needs; ensures work orders are fulfilled in a timely manner; procures necessary materials and components; ensures preventative maintenance is completed on schedule with minimal downtime (TPM); interfaces with outside contractors and suppliers
  • Provides technical guidance to production operations, uses engineering principles to assist in resolution of day-to-day manufacturing issues
  • Recommends methods to continuously improve worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment and provides training where needed; Looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
  • Confers with management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Researches and provides recommendations on capital equipment purchases, works with outside vendors to solicit quotes, prepares criteria for successful implementation and ensures they’re met
  • Defines the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements, quoting new business per customer requirements.
  • Develops and maintains timing charts and budgets for assigned engineering projects.
  • Provides reports on the status and progress of project milestones to customer, project team and management; adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of the project budget, alerts management if cost exceed budget and why this has occurred.
  • Plans, communicates, and develops test programs for prototypes.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications provides feedback and discussion for same.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials to support model changes communicates information to the shop floor.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Direct integration of technical activities and products.
  • Manages tooling, evaluates, and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support; assists in preparing quotations
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Generates and performs periodic updates on BOMs in manufacturing ERP system

Machine Operator (1st & 3rd Shifts)

Leonhardt Manufacturing is looking to fill 1st & 3rd shift Machine Operator positions. Machine Operators operate machines requiring a normal amount of skill to change the shape or conditioning of new materials.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined part to specifications using the “In Process Check Sheet” (Green Sheet)
  • Checks for any quality alerts in their respective areas (Light Booths)
  • Follows the production control board for run quantities
  • Keeps area clean and clutter free
  • Recognizes and able to make minor adjustments to program to correct part fitment or appearance
  • Performs quality checks as per the “In Process Check Sheet” (Green Sheet)
  • Follows daily operating plan for the machine which includes safety and mechanical checks

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience a must
  • Previous CNC experience is preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is important

MIG/TIG Welder (1st & 3rd Shifts)

Leonhardt Manufacturing is looking to fill a 1st shift Welder position, M-TH (5AM-3:30PM) and 3rd shift Welder position, S-W (6:30PM-5AM) . The welder must be able to weld aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel as specified by the layout, welding diagram, work order or blueprints.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
  • Performs MIG and/or TIG weld based on project needs
  • Sets up components for welding according to specifications
  • Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements – can weld to desired requirements
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws i.e. to pass leak check and MT check
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld or spatter
  • Sands or touches up weld with sander and/or grinder
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience with MIG and TIG welding preferred
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of products
  • Ability to identify and measure material
  • Ability to produce quality products consistently
  • Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges

 

Packer/Inspector (1st & 3rd Shifts)

The Packer/Inspector inspects and packages material and high value-added tubular products according to customer specifications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits and incomplete welds
  • Touch up product as needed using hand sander, pencil grinder, polish or other finishing device process
  • Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly
  • Verifies specified dimensions of product or material
  • Rejects defective parts and marks type of defect on part, container of parts or inspection tag
  • Packages product according to specifications (folding, wrapping, inserting enclosures, closing and sealing containers and applying labels or identifying data) in order to meet required shipments
  • May use a forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
